U.P. VETERANS ASSISTANCE FUND
The Upper Peninsula Veterans Assistance Fund has been created by UPCAP Services via a grant from the State of Michigan to address holes in veteran funding needs in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There are many funding sources available for veterans but quite often there are circumstances that either do not fit the veteran’s needs or they may not be qualified for the assistance. This fund is here to address that.
The mission of the Upper Peninsula Veterans Assistance Fund is to become a long term self sustaining fund to assist Verterans living in the U.P. Our soldiers have risked their lives defending our country and fighting for our freedom. It is the duty of our communities to make sure they are taken care of and do not fall through the cracks. If we work together we can help to ensure that U.P. Veterans have a place to turn when all other options have been exhausted.
Medical Needs
Individuals may require extra assistance for medical expenses.
Travel Expenses

Housing Assistance
Housing assistance could be a little extra help with rent or finding a contractor to do general repairs.
Life Balance/Health & Wellness for the Caregiver

“With the support from U.P. Veterans Assistance Fund, my car was repaired and I have been able to make it to my V.A. appointments without fear of breaking down.”

The Process
A Veteran in need that lives anywhere in Upper Michigan can submit a request for services that they were not able to obtain through other sources. Then they will meet with one of our representatives who will help to determine that they qualify for funds. An elected board will then review the request. Upon approval the services or funds will be distributed to the Veteran.
Where Does the Money Come From
The money comes via donations from businesses and community members.
