Kinship Caregiver Information
Kinship care refers to the practice of placing
a child with a relative when their parents
cannot care for them. This can include
grandparents, aunts, uncles, or other
extended family members, or even fictive
kin (those known to the family). It's often a
preferred option over traditional foster care
because it maintains family connections
and cultural ties, minimizing trauma for the
child. Kinship Caregivers have a different
dynamic and need additional resources. You
