Become a Volunteer Mediator

You Can Make A Difference

The mediators for UPCAP's Conflict Resolution Services Program are community volunteers extensively trained and supported by the program.   The professional team of mediator volunteers includes individuals from many ethnic, social, educational and vocational backgrounds who facilitate meetings and communication training sessions.

Through the mediation programs, staff and trained volunteers help clients:
- identify problems,
- clarify perspectives and concerns,
- develop viable options, and
- reach mutually satisfactory agreements.

As a result of public relations, outreach, and training efforts, more and more people are recognizing the value of non-adversarial, collaborative approaches to working through complex situations and developing workable agreements.
