Housing Project Locations

UPCAP manages 11 apartment complexes across northern Michigan.   Each location may offer single- to 3-bedroom units for families, elderly, and individuals with a handicap or disability.   Some apartments are subsidized and some are not.   Regardless of income level, look below for an apartment location near you.

Government subsidized housing is intended for income-eligible families, older adults, and people with disabilities who need housing at a below-market-rate rent.   Those who meet the income, occupancy, and background verifications generally pay about 30% of their household income for rent (instead of the market rent rate).

The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provide the subsidy payments to the property manager to make up the difference between what the eligible tenant pays and the market rent rate.   UPCAP adheres to all HUD and USDA rental assistance policies and regulations.
