The availability of affordable housing options is a complex and vital issue. It is no secret that housing needs of the elderly, rural, low income, handicapped, and disabled individuals of the Upper Peninsula are not being adequately met.
In response, UPCAP is ready to assist non-profit groups who are interested in developing subsidized housing. In the absense of interested non-profit developers, UPCAP will assume the role of developer to meet those needs. UPCAP will continue to seek out new funding sources in an ongoing effort to meet the housing needs for U.P. residents.
